What's LOVE got to do with it??!!

If there has been one big revelation since the demythizing of Santa Claus and "those in power and authority are there by the merit of their virtue" is the realization that what I called love was a desire for mutual reciprocation along with SEX. Even with the mea culpa of my own limitations-then and now-this idea of "love" was no more an indoctrinated notion of sentiments given lip-service by my mentors and exploited by mass media. In the end "love" was no more than a great affected sentiment to think and feel, but rarely a long term reality that doesn't devolve into some enabling, possessiveness, or co-dependency "for better or worse until death do ye part".

There is caring, affection, and concern which MIGHT reach the level of a "mercy fuck" and even an acknowledgement of practical physiological needs without the perils of procreation or the catch-strings of emotional and financial security of one's or the other's emotional baggage. The Love with the aesthetic trappings you could read at any personal ad site "W4M" or "Lonely Man Desires..." is more the sign of the latent affects of believing and celebrating the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus than it is a true platonic, altruism for another that "wants their cake and eating it" rather than an honest, demystified meeting of the minds on short term expectations that do not lead to the recriminations of long term revelations.

Considering the divorce rate, the mental and physical abuse of pathologcal relationships, the out right duplicty and hypocrisy of lip-service to romantic ethos, I have come away with the conclusion that "Love" as popularly "espoused" is more a emotional appendage of childhood myths and expectations, then a realistic comprehension of one's hormonal driven needs competing with one's emotional insecurities of having the emotional fraternal twin when most of us did not have even a physical fraternal twin!

Love and SEX ARE separate. With sex as more tangible, but not the path to love. Love in its purist virtuous quality is NOT the path to awaiting sex, though a "Mercy Fuck" is probable.
